I've seen lots of comments on here saying you need extra anti-wear additives for old style solid tappet engines. So does the modern Duratec also need these extra additives?

2.5 is a V-6 that came in the SVT contour and the cougar. DOHC 24 valve, 170 HP and if i remember its a duratec also. not a bad motor plus all the mazda 6 is, is the cougar. same frame, same motor, same plant lol. there a strong motor but they have had there quality problems but if i know mazda they wont release a crappy car theyll do there homework 1st

Different transmission mount, and some evidence of different transmission cooler. Again, not really a power ingredient.

The stroke is the same as the DT 3.5, with a bigger bore.
According to the workshop manual, a 2023 model year Transit equipped with a 3.5L Duratec V6 takes 12 quarts (11.36 litres) of 5W30. Yet, the same model year of Transit equipped with a 3.5L Ecoboost V6 takes only 6.0 quarts (5.7 litres) of 5W30!!!
